Why Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Breakup Funeral is the Glow-Up Ritual We All Need

Share

Even LOVE needs a funeral!

If ICONIC were a person, it would 100% be Kaitlyn Bristowe! An 11/10 rating doesn’t even cut it because, seriously, who else would throw a full-on funeral for a breakup? Total legend vibes.

Kaitlyn Bristowe is out here living her best life! She’s juggling it all as a dedicated Swiftie, wine enthusiast, influencer, podcast queen, and Bachelor franchise icon, theygossip.com reports.

But let’s not forget her past relationships. If you’re all about Bachelor Nation, you know Kaitlyn was engaged to Shawn Booth for three years after meeting on season 11 of “The Bachelorette”. Then, she dated Jason Tartick from season 14 for four years.

Why Kaitlyn Decided to Hold a Breakup Funeral

So, why did Kaitlyn go all out with a funeral for her last relationship? It turns out she picked up this unique way of coping from a personal growth retreat.

The mental exercise involved a visual practice of saying goodbye and finding closure. As she explained on her “Off The Vine” podcast, it was all about making peace with the past and shifting her mindset. “It really does do something,” she shared.

How Kaitlyn Said Goodbye to Her Past

Kaitlyn didn’t actually bury anything; the whole funeral was symbolic. “I had a funeral,” she revealed. “A little funeral service—fake burial. I did it alone. I didn’t bury anything. It was all mental. I always sound so f–king crazy.”

But crazy or not, it was a crucial part of her healing journey.

The Role of Her Support System

While the funeral was a solo event, Kaitlyn’s support system played a huge role in helping her move on.

Her friends were so supportive that they even suggested throwing a “congratulations” party for her post-breakup.

Kaitlyn was surprised by the love she received, but it made all the difference. “One of my favorite things, when I ended my last relationship, was multiple people said congratulations or they’re proud of me, or that that must’ve been hard,” she recalled.

The Lingering Emotions

Despite her progress, Kaitlyn admitted that she’s not fully over everything.

Especially after Jason hard-launched his new romance with Kat Stickler in June, Kaitlyn confessed to still dealing with some anger and resentment.

“It’s more of some held-on anger and resentment that I’m working through!!!” she wrote in a private “Off The Vine” Facebook group.

The Bigger Picture: Heartbreak, Rumors, and Healing

Kaitlyn’s breakup wasn’t just about parting ways; it involved heartbreak, rumors of cheating, and someone playing the victim.

The funeral she held for her relationship wasn’t just a quirky act—it was a powerful step toward healing.

And as Kaitlyn continues to thrive as an independent queen, she’s proving that sometimes, you’ve got to bury the past to move forward.

The Benefits Of Burying Your Last Relationship

Love has died so what do we do we hold a funeral!!

Throwing a little funeral for a relationship that’s done can actually help you deal with all the feelings that come with a breakup.

Facing the Feels

Breakups hurt like hell, and pretending they don’t is just toxic. A breakup funeral lets you fully own your grief, giving you the space to feel all the emotions and start healing for real.

Ritual Vibes for Closure

Rituals aren’t just for weddings or holidays. A breakup funeral is like a ritual that helps you close the door on your past relationship.

It’s a way to mentally and emotionally draw the line and say, “This chapter’s done.”

Mindset Shift

Doing something symbolic like a breakup funeral can help flip the switch in your brain. It’s a way to tell yourself it’s time to let go and move on, turning the page on all the drama.

Squad Support

Just like a regular funeral brings people together, a breakup funeral is a chance for your friends to show up for you.

It’s all about community vibes, making sure you’re not dealing with the heartbreak solo.

Taking Back Control

When everything feels out of control after a breakup, planning a funeral gives you something to hold onto.

It’s your way of saying, “I’m in charge of my healing,” and that’s seriously empowering.

Letting It All Out

A breakup funeral gives you a safe space to express all the emotions—anger, sadness, relief, whatever.

Whether it’s writing a letter or having a symbolic ceremony, it’s a healthy way to get those feelings out instead of bottling them up.

Breaking the Break-Up Taboo

Society’s all like, “Just get over it,” but that’s not how healing works. Throwing a breakup funeral is a way to push back against that mindset and give your breakup the significance it deserves.

Moving On For Real

The end goal? Healing and moving on. A breakup funeral is your first step toward saying goodbye to the past and embracing your future.

It’s about finding peace and letting yourself start fresh with good vibes only.

So yeah, a breakup funeral might just be the glow-up ritual you never knew you needed.
