When Cultures Collide in Love: Nick and Carrie’s Romance

Share

An Indian boyfriend and an Asian girlfriend a pairing no one knew we needed!!

I got introduced to Nick and Carrie through a video where Carrie pranked her boyfriend!

Nick was passed out on the floor with a remote in his hand, he was just sleeping! With a mischievous glint in her eye, Carrie began setting up a scene around Nick, HeTexted.com reports.

She strategically placed empty liquor bottles around him, making it seem like he had quite the wild night.

But the pièce de résistance was the full bottle she carefully positioned in his hand as if he had fallen asleep mid-drink. It was clear that Carrie had put a lot of effort into making this prank as convincing as possible.

Once everything was set, Carrie couldn’t contain her excitement any longer and decided to call Nick’s dad into the room.

As his dad walked in he started yelling at his son for getting drunk while confusion washed over Nick’s face, and it was absolutely hilarious to witness.

He couldn’t comprehend what was happening or how he ended up in such a compromising position. Meanwhile, Carrie struggled to stifle her laughter, barely able to keep a straight face.

That’s how I fell in love with the couple, turns out I am not the only one, they have over 8 million subscribers on YouTube and about 10 million followers on TikTok.

Nick and Carrie’s history

The more I dived into their content the more I wanted to know about their love story, so I did a deep dive and discovered how it all began.

So without any further ado let’s dive into their love story and the details that come with it.

@nickandcarrie

Our true love story ???? It all began with a superlike on Tinder. In 2018, I came across Carrie’s profile–-it said, ‘I love cooking, but I hate to do the dishes.’ So, I replied saying, ‘You can cook, and I can do the dishes.’ But that is not where our love story began. At first, it was pure friendship, the kind where you tell each other about each other’s day. The kind where you tell each other about the dates you have been on.The kind where you are each other’s comfort person. But 6 months in…Carrie’s ‘Oh today I seeing someone’ or her no reply started bothering me. I would feel uncomfortable when I heard her talk about other guys. And soon, I realized, I wanted to be on the other side of the candlelight dinner with her. But I was keeping it all in…thinking, ‘What if Carrie doesn’t feel the same way?’ But it all came out…one night in a parking lot. I told Carrie, ‘I like you and I want to be the only one you go on dates with.’ To which she smiled and that was the day we became official. And that was the beginning of our story. Either you would find us at home, fighting over a slice of pizza, or just hanging out with our friends. I still remember the first time I went to Carrie’s house for dinner, I sat down and the food looks bland. It was simple homemade Cantonese cuisine. I asked for the Maggi sauce and I filled my bowl with it and gobbled my entire meal like this. Carrie and her entire family were shocked looking at me. That was then…and today, you won’t believe it, but a hot plate of the same Cantonese meal has become my comfort food. I think that is just what love does to you, right? And mine and Carrie’s love has always been more than just candies and roses… 6 months after we began dating, Carrie got a job offer in Sydney. At that moment, we had two options–long distance or I leave my job and take a shift with her. But just the thought of not being able to see each other in freaked me out. I couldn’t live without her so I took a bold move of packing my bags and moving with her to Sydney Eventually I got a job in Sydney but I didn’t enjoy it at all. I have this feeling that I’m wasting my time hating what I’m doing. Carrie saw it through and encouraged me to build something that I’m passionate about. One day she just came to me and said, ‘Nick, I am here for both of us, do what makes you happy.’ I think I knew what I wanted to do, but hearing from her give me the confidence and courage. So, I left my job and started my own business. It took a huge hit on our way of living. It wasn’t the easiest days we had, but Carrie made the most mundane things special. We used to love going to local café for breakfast, but we couldn’t afford it at the time, so Carrie would find receipts and cook nice homecooked meals, or we would make our own lunch and picnic at the park. I just knew she was the person who could add stars to my dull night. And she did. In 2020, my health took a toll and I had to go through surgery after surgery, Carrie held my hand throughout it all. Even when my Maa passed away during COVID and I couldn’t be there for her last rites due to the travel restrictions, I was a mess. It was Carrie that always by my side giving me all the support. ‘Life is tough, but it is easier if you have a co-passenger on this journey with you.’ And with Carrie by my side, I know this journey is going to be a one hell of a memorable ride and I can’t wait to take the next turn!” #fyp #couple #relationship

How did Nick and Carrie meet?

These two met through Tinder!

Carrie had just come out of a relationship and decided to go on Tinder, that is where she met Nick.

After talking for a few days through the app, Nick asked Carrie out!

When they met for the first time Nick had thought Carrie was underage since she looked so young and was relieved when he knew she was not a minor but an adult.

The first question before saying hello was ‘How old are you’ and when she answered 21, let’s just say Nick calmed down!!

Their first date

They went out drinking!

Carrie and Nick decided on a laid-back date they went out for drinks and just had a few hours-long conversations about life and their families.

The duo clicked instantly and just knew they were right for one another.

How they adjusted to their different cultures

Nick and Carrie are from two different backgrounds and cultures.

They decided to do it like this, know one another’s culture by trying things from that culture.

So Carrie would try Indian food while Nick would try Asaian, and they would meet one another’s family and make sure they knew what everyone was talking about and all that.

It does sound easy but they learned to compromise and be respectful about everything even if they do not like it.

Carrie and Nick’s biggest hardship in the relationship

For Carrie, it was leaving her family behind and having to move to Sydney. She felt like she had lost some security even though she was going to be with her boyfriend.

It was just hard for her to relocate to a new place and start from zero.

Nick on the other hand lost his mother during the pandemic and it took a toll on him and his relationship with Carrie.

He did not want to talk to anyone and would just shut everyone down, he kind of distanced himself from Carrie but she was there to support him through everything.
