Netflix is the go-to spot for binge-worthy shows, and I just got completely hooked on the newest series, The Perfect Couple!
If you’re craving a final hit of summer drama packed with murder mystery vibes and the kind of family that’s obsessed with keeping up their flawless image, this one’s for you.
The Perfect Couple, based on Elin Hilderbrand’s bestselling novel, dives into the chaos that unravels when a murder rocks the Winbury family.
Mere hours before they’re set to throw the perfect wedding for their son Benji and his bride-to-be, Amelia (Eve Hewson).
It’s all about secrets, lies, and a picture-perfect family that isn’t as perfect as they’d like everyone to think, theygossip.com reports.
Leading the way is none other than Nicole Kidman, the reigning queen of intense, complex characters.
She absolutely owns the role of Greer Winbury, the family’s tough-as-nails matriarch, and she’s backed by a killer (pun intended) ensemble cast, including Eve Hewson, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, Meghann Fahy, and more.

But watching all these so-called “perfect couples” made me question things—like, is there really such a thing as the perfect couple? Or are we all just pretending, hoping no one looks too close?
So I thought why not break down all three couples in the show and see which one fits the standard and deserves the ‘Percet Couple’ title?
What Makes a Couple Perfect?
A “perfect” couple is all about good vibes—strong communication, trust, and mutual respect are the foundation.
They’ve got each other’s backs, share similar goals, and know how to have fun together while still keeping their own identities.
It’s a balance of spending quality time together and giving each other space when needed. The real key?
Putting in the effort and staying committed, even when things get tough. It’s not about being flawless, but about sticking together through the ups and downs.
Greer and Tag (Nicole Kidman & Liev Schreiber)
Tag Winbury is Greer’s husband, but he feels more like her sidekick than an equal partner.
Greer, who has even written him into her novels as the Dash to her Dolly, works hard to keep up the illusion that their marriage is perfect.
Despite Tag being more focused on his own pleasures. They have three sons—Thomas, Benji, and Will—but from the start, it’s clear that Greer is the one in charge.
When we meet the Winburys, everything appears picture-perfect, but it’s barely holding together.
They’re both putting a lot of effort into maintaining the facade of perfection, and Tag is just coasting along because Greer is the alpha.
She makes all the decisions in the marriage and the family—everything is done her way.

They’ve always claimed their differences are what keep their marriage strong, but when a major death shakes their world, that perfect image quickly starts to fall apart.
A big moment comes in where their relationship unravels in dramatic fashion, showing just how fragile the illusion of perfection really is.
Abby and Thomas (Dakota Fanning & Jack Reynor)
This pair is a bit interesting if I can say! One is looking to be loved and the other is after money.
Thomas, the oldest Winbury son, has always been the low-key, overlooked one in the family. He doesn’t get the same attention or love from his parents as his brothers, so what does he do?
Marry Abby, a high-key socialite who looks like she was born to be in the Winbury world.
Both of them are obsessed with status. They’re all about flexing their wealth—designer clothes, the best addresses, and being seen in the right places.
But here’s the twist: one of them is way more ruthless about keeping up the lifestyle. As the series goes on, it turns into a total power struggle between them.
Abby? She’s living her best life, soaking up the Winbury family’s wealth and loving every second of it. If Thomas married her for the image, she 100% married him for the money.

Amelia and Benji (Eve Hewson & Billy Howle)
I found this couple weird too! Why, well Benji seems to be head over heels for Amelia but she on the other hand always questioned her love for him and a little spoiler slept with his best friend!!
The happy couple, Amelia and Benji, seem like the perfect pair.
They’ve gathered all their friends and family on the Island for a dreamy Fourth of July wedding, and with their good looks, youth, and seemingly perfect lives, they’re the obvious candidates for the title of The Perfect Couple.
But beneath the surface, there’s an imbalance that’s not as easy to ignore as it has been for Greer and Tag.
The show raises the big question—does Amelia truly want to get married, or is she just going through the motions?
As the story unfolds, she may find herself torn between what she’s expected to do and what she really wants.

On the flip side, Benji is head over heels for Amelia. Having grown up in a family that didn’t exactly prioritize emotional warmth, he’s drawn to her independence and authenticity.
Benji’s love feels genuine because he craves the realness Amelia brings, a stark contrast to the inauthenticity he senses in his own family.
Looking at all the couples, no one deserves the title of being the perfect one, but Amelia and Benji are a bit close!
