EXCLUSIVE: Ben Affleck’s Praise for Jennifer Lopez Feels Lingering Love and Strategic PR

Share

Dr. Deb Castaldo once said “Love and Divorce are usually complex, and actually downright messy. Whatever is going on in a marriage usually continues during and after divorce. The dynamics between the couple really don’t change.”

You might be wondering what all this has to do with Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Well, Ben recently shared some heartfelt words about his ex that have fans raising their eyebrows.

ICYMI, Ben and J.Lo are in the midst of a divorce, yet they’re out here promoting Unstoppable together—a movie Ben produced.

J.Lo’s been front and center for most of the press, but Ben chimed in with a simple, but intriguing, “Jennifer is spectacular.” Three words, endless questions.

Their current relationship status is sparking all kinds of speculation, especially after they were caught sharing a kiss at brunch not long after J.Lo filed for divorce.

So, what’s really going on? Is it an affectionate nod to lingering feelings, or just a masterclass in PR? The jury’s still out on that one, but fans are tuned in, waiting to see if Bennifer has another chapter up their sleeve.

While we wait for that our jury, Dr.Deb Castaldo who is a relationship expert and a therapist has shared her view on all of this.

According to Dr. Deb Castaldo, the answer might be a little bit of both, this a sign of lingering affection, or simply a strategic PR move.

Dr. Deb believes Ben Affleck’s admiration for Jennifer Lopez could be a mix of complex emotions—a “cocktail” of love, sadness, and maybe even disappointment.

“Reuniting after a broken engagement from two decades ago suggests there’s an abiding love,” Castaldo explains. “But that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re cut out for marriage.”

This perspective sheds light on why Affleck and Lopez might be able to stay close and supportive, despite a rocky past.

Dr. Castaldo even suggests they may have a mutual, unspoken understanding to present each other in the best light publicly.

“It’s a positive choice if they’ve decided to support each other in public,” she says, “but it’s important not to jump to conclusions about them rekindling a romantic relationship.”

The question of maintaining a connection post-breakup isn’t just a Hollywood story; it’s relevant to anyone who’s loved deeply, Dr. Castaldo notes.

“If there’s still affection, maintaining a connection can be valuable—not necessarily romantic, but a different kind of love.”

Castaldo’s philosophy redefines breakups, challenging the traditional idea of love as an all-or-nothing concept.

“Love never truly goes away,” she says. “Continuing to love someone, even from a distance, can benefit everyone involved, especially the children.”

This outlook pushes us to view love as something that doesn’t just end but transforms, allowing us to “move on” in a healthier way.

The story of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez brings this idea to life. Their journey has been a mix of love, regret, independence, and renewed connection—showing that love can shift and evolve rather than disappear.

As Castaldo notes, rather than completely severing ties, it can be more beneficial to redefine the connection: We should broaden our view of breakups.

Sometimes, it’s healthier to redefine that love. Love has many forms, and being in each other’s lives, even from afar, can be its own form of healing.

Bennifer

Castaldo’s perspective gives us a fresh takeaway: maybe it’s time to rethink breakups, not as endings but as chances for a different kind of connection.

Whether Bennifer’s journey takes a romantic turn or remains a testament to mutual respect and friendship, it’s a reminder that love is resilient.

Relationships may not always follow the expected path, but that doesn’t mean they end; they evolve.

Affleck and Lopez may indeed show us that true connection has no expiration, making us wonder if we ever truly “break up” with those we’ve loved—or if that love simply takes on a new, lasting shape.
