It’s a big love triangle, how is she supposed to choose!! Well, she did choose but was it the right one??
Honestly, I have my doubts. If I were in her shoes, choosing between two hot guys would be a total struggle!
Emily’s been on a wild ride these last three seasons, right? Like, her feelings for Gabriel were all over the place, especially since he was with Camille.
But then, in Season 3, she found out that Gabriel and Camille were done with the whole wedding thing.
Finally, Emily’s got a shot at something real with Gabriel! Plot twist Alfie was the second choice, theygossip.com reports.
I gotta be real, I’m totally team Alfie! I know my crush on him might’ve started from a place of pity, and yeah, that’s kinda messed up, but can you really blame me?
I mean, I like Gabriel too, but he should’ve been way more bold from the jump and just told Emily how he felt right away.
Gabriel and Alfie
So, just saying, that I’m here to back up Alfie as the better pick based on their relationship timelines!
Let’s get right into it, starting with Gabriel and saving the best one for later(Alfie)!!
Gabriel and Emily’s Timeline
Season 4 part 1
Gabriel still has feelings for Emily but says he doesn’t want to interfere with her relationship with Alfie.
At the same time, Emily is trying hard to mend things with Alfie, who is not interested in her. Well, he is but when you discover you were the second choice all along… you get hurt.
While Emily is working in past relationships, Camille disappears and Emily is the one who brings her back into their lives.
Gabriel hints at his feelings for Emily by saying, “I know what it’s like to be in love with someone else.”
At the Maison Lavaux masquerade ball, Emily cleverly hides her attraction to both Alfie and Gabriel, keeping them unaware of each other.
Emily In Paris proves that Paris is the city of love
During the night, she and Gabriel share a romantic dance, ending with a kiss in a horse carriage.
Meanwhile, Camile and Sophie have moved in into the apartment next to Gabriel, since Camille is having ‘his baby’, which does not sit that well with Cooper.
Despite this Gabriel and Emily express their love through sweet dates and Emily supporting Gabriel’s restaurant business.
With emotions high and sparks flying, one wonders: Will Emily and Gabriel find their happy ending, or will their complicated romance take another twist? Season 4 Part 2 is highly anticipated.
Season 3
Emily and Gabriel knew they were in love with one another even though they were in relationships with other people.
Not much happened with Emily and Gabriel’s romance that season!
However, we did get a wedding which did not happen because Camille disclosed to the guests that Emily and Gabriel love one another leading Alfie to break up with Emily.
The biggest shock of the season was discovering that Camille was pregnant, which made Gabriel feel he had to marry her quickly.
Season 2
This season Gabriel and Camille got back together.
Still, Emily didn’t give up on love. She started dating her co-worker and Gabriel’s friend, Alfie.
Camille found out about Gabriel and Emily’s past when she discovered one of his cooking pans in Emily’s kitchen.
This led to the two women agreeing to prioritize their friendship over their complicated feelings for Gabriel.
Emily and Gabriel
Sadly, this agreement didn’t last. Later in the season, Emily realizes she still had feelings for Gabriel but chooses not to act on them after finding out Camille is back with him.
Season 1
Emily and Gabriel began as neighbors in the same building during Season 1. They first met when Emily accidentally tried to enter his apartment. Gabriel playfully greeted her, creating instant romantic tension.
Despite their playful interactions, they kept things friendly. Emily often got into small troubles, and Gabriel was always there to help her out in Paris.
Then Emily discovers that her friend is dating Gabriel! And that’s how an on-and-off relationship between them starts.
Alfie and Emily’s Timeline
Season 4 Part 1
Camille calls off her wedding to Gabriel at the last minute, revealing that she’s expecting his baby.
She feels that marrying him isn’t right because of his lingering feelings for Emily.
This news prompts Alfie to break things off with Emily without hearing her out, as he refuses to be anyone’s backup.
Even though they go their separate ways, the AMI “Love is in the Air” campaign makes them reconsider their feelings, reigniting the love triangle until Alfie suddenly vanishes.
After a promotional event for AMI where they share a moment on the Roland-Garros kiss cam, Alfie and Emily decide to officially end things.
Gabriel pushes Alfie to pursue Emily, but Alfie finds it hard to move past Emily’s history with Gabriel.
In the episodes that follow, Emily and Alfie run into each other at work, but Emily seems more interested in building a connection with Gabriel.
Emily and Alfie
Season 3
Things are looking up for Emily and Alfie. But then, he drops the bomb that he’s heading back to London.
He’s all in for a long-distance relationship, but Emily’s too caught up with work and ends up missing his farewell party.
For the next couple of weeks, they barely chat, and then Emily gets hit with a huge shock when she finds out Alfie never actually moved to London.
Antoine hooked him up with a job at his company, and he’s been living it up in Paris. To make matters worse, her friends Camille and Gabriel knew the whole time and didn’t say a word.
In the end, Emily manages to win Alfie back, and their relationship really takes off.
Season 2
Alfie and Emily crossed paths in their French class, where they ended up as somewhat unwilling partners for an assignment.
This project pushes them to get to know each other better, even though Alfie thinks he already has Emily all figured out.
She insists on meeting up to talk about their work, but Alfie isn’t really taking it seriously.
What I find great about Alfie is how he starts off as this stuck-up, rude guy. But as time goes on, Emily manages to break down his walls and warm him up.
Alfie and Emily are our couple (Team Alfie all the way)
When he finds out about the whole Emily-Gabriel situation, he confronts both of them separately to get the scoop on their relationship.
After they both share their sides (without spilling too much), he just takes it in stride and moves on.
He brings a level of maturity to the show. Plus, he comes from a place of wanting to be honest with Emily later in Season 2.
I’ve always been drawn to characters who show real growth, or who, despite their rough edges, have a more mature and rational view of life.
Over time, their tough exteriors soften, making them much easier to connect with.
