After 7 years of being together, it seems like Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin might be officially over—or at least on a break.
Rumors are flying that the two are living separate lives, even while still in Malibu. Although they live in the same neighborhood, they’ve been spotted out and about on different occasions without stopping to visit each other, theygossip.com reports.
Both were seen driving and walking down the same street, but their paths didn’t cross.
Dakota and Chris were always super low-key about their relationship, which made it easy for things to fly under the radar.
They were first rumored to be together years ago, but you barely saw them out and about.
Honestly, I didn’t even realize they were dating until that COVID handwashing video went viral, where Dakota hilariously pretended Chris’s hands were hers!
Even though they were together for years, it wasn’t the “power couple” vibe Chris had with Gwen Stefani.
That said, Dakota was accepted by Gwen, and the two women apparently bonded as friends.
They’ve been spotted dog-walking together a few times, and Dakota has talked about Chris’s kids, referring to them as her step-kids. She even mentioned how much she’s learned from them.

Later that month, Johnson was spotted at Martin’s Glastonbury performance alongside his children, Apple and Moses.

Rumors in March suggested that the couple had been engaged for years but weren’t in a rush to tie the knot. This lined up with Johnson referring to Martin’s child as her stepson and occasionally being seen wearing a large emerald ring on her finger.
