Kate Middleton and Meghan Markel have always had a frosty connection.
In the new book Endgame written by Omid Scobie the tea on the chilly vibes between Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is spilled, HeTexted.com reports.
Kate couldn’t be bothered to invest in a genuine friendship with the duchess. She was simply “not interested” while Meghan always hoped to form a bond with the Princess.
According to the writer, the Duchess of Sussex thought that she would form a friendship with Middleton as she understands the challenges of being an outsider in the British royal clan.
Did Kate ever consider extending her sisterly support to Meghan when she joined the royal family?
Maybe a little guidance and advice on how to navigate the treacherous waters of the family would have been nice. Not as a knight in shining armor, but as a fellow sister-in-law.
Or were the cracks in their relationships already too deep before the engagement?
Kate and Meghan’s relationship – How it ‘started’ and ‘ended’
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were known to have e good relationship.
Before Harry and Meghan announced their ‘departure’ from the royal family the ‘fab four’ as they were labeled had a lot of outings together where they were all smiles, enjoying conversations and just having fun.
Let’s break down some of Kate and Meghan’s times they stepped out together and see what made their relationship go sour.
In 2017, Markle made her debut appearance with Harry, William, and Middleton on Christmas Day.

The Queen went against protocol and allowed her to join the festivities in Sandringham even before she officially became a member of the royal family.
They were affectionately called the “fab four” during their first joint engagement for the Heads Together charity campaign in February 2018.
Markle was captured laughing alongside her future in-laws, just three months before her royal wedding. This marked the first time a ‘bond’ started to form between the two ladies
And that bond seemed to be strengthening day by day. Markle and Middleton were seen having small exchanges during the Duchess of Sussex’s first Trooping the Colour parade.
After that, they were seen more and more together in public enjoying one another’s company. They had their first joint outing in July when they went to Wimbledon together.
Months later after that, at the Commonwealth Day 2019 service, Markle and Middleton greeted each other with a warm hug.

The two families also enjoyed a day out to watch Harry and William play polo, accompanied by their children.
Middleton and William were even asked to pose in baby Archie’s official christening photo in July, but after that, the couples were not seen together anymore nor did they have any exchanges.
They had a good friendship but that was put to a test before and after The Sussexs stepped away from their royal duties.
Meghan and Kate’s friendship fell apart
Harry and Meghan have been very open about their issues with the royal family and the monarchy as a whole.
Their interviews, docuseries, and Harry’s memoir have not been well-received by Kate. According to Scobie, Kate finds it hard to trust them after all the things they have said in public.
Despite being of the same age and holding the same position, the two never managed to form a friendship.
The fab four were all smiles when they had outings together
Both of the women were outsiders, it’s just that Kate had more time to get proper education about the protocol and such things while Meghan did not.
Then, news broke that they had a fight before Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry over Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress, and the media quickly focused on the narrative of a feud.
The rumors reached their peak when Markle gave an explosive interview with Oprah, where she accused the Princess of Wales of making her cry, despite the headlines suggesting the opposite.
During the same interview, Markle revealed that her sister-in-law had apologized and sent flowers to resolve the issue.
However, according to royal reporter Omid Scobie, tensions between them had been building up for a long time.
But who is really to blame in all of these situations or better in this failed friendship? Meghan is not the only one who had it hard, Kate did so.

Kate was already expecting her third child when Meghan and Harry got engaged and she gave birth a month before their wedding.
She was criticized many times by the media for being lazy and doing all sorts of things just because she took rest days due to her challenging pregnancies.
So, when the whole Kate-made-cry-gate incident happened, she had just become a mother again while taking care of two young children at home.
Honestly, if I were in her shoes, my main focus would be on my family too. I mean, who wouldn’t?
Initially, they did make an effort. They had discussions about mental health with the “fab four,” Kate took Meghan to watch tennis, and they even went for a walk together on Christmas.

They are both women, both mothers, and both have faced terrible treatment from the media.
We can’t possibly know everything they did or didn’t do in private hence why it is hard to put the blame on one for not making it work.
Also, there are two sides to the story and so far we have only seen one, who knows what else will be revealed if the other party speaks out?!!
