At This Point, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s Feud Might Be Just PR

Share

Justin Baldoni, the actor-director of “It Ends With Us,” has reportedly brought in a crisis public relations manager.

This comes amid rumors of conflicts among the film’s cast, including Baldoni and Blake Lively, during the promotion of the Colleen Hoover novel adaptation.

There have been reports of disagreements during post-production, and social media users have pointed out the absence of joint press events, theygossip.com reports.

Baldoni did not hire just a crisis PR Manager he hired Melissa Nathen who Johnny Depp previously hired during his trial with Amber Heard.

Several sources have reported that Baldoni and Lively had a poor relationship while filming. Baldoni, who directed the movie, made Lively feel “uncomfortable” and contributed to a “very challenging” environment for the entire cast.

I see we are headed for a PR-off or this could be a PR strategy to make others watch the movie.

Honestly, it’s lowkey working for me. I’m curious about what the drama is all about now.

I wasn’t even into the movie before all this chaos (don’t get me wrong I did like the book), but now I’m wondering if it’s actually that bad to spark a fight or if it’s just a decent flick that got caught up in the drama.

With that said let’s break down the feud and give away all the details of what might have started it.

What Sources Have Revealed

Reports say that Blake Lively, who is a producer on the film, asked editor Shane Reid to create her own version.

Reid previously worked on her husband Ryan Reynolds’ movie “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

However, another source pointed out that Lively’s version may not indicate any conflict, as it’s normal for multiple versions to be made during post-production, and the team eventually reached a consensus on the final version.

Fans on social media observed that Lively and Baldoni rarely appeared together during the press tour.

Baldoni has given interviews to Access Hollywood, Today, Entertainment Tonight, and Good Morning America, while Lively has spoken with Vogue, Capital FM, and CBS Mornings, but not with Baldoni.

Fans noticed that Baldoni is following both Colleen Hoover, who was an executive producer, and Lively on social media, but neither of them follows him back.

There was talk about possible disagreements over creative control after Lively mentioned that Reynolds wrote a scene that fans really liked from the book.

However, several sources confirmed that Reynolds did not write the whole scene.

In a chat with Hits Radio UK, Lively talked about a disagreement she had on set, which she suggested she wasn’t meant to discuss.

She didn’t say who it was with but mentioned that “they begged” her to take out a Lana Del Rey song from the movie.

Baldoni later said that “friction” is a normal part of the creative process, explaining that this tension helps to “create beautiful art.”

Could It Be All PR Because It Looks Like It

The idea that a supposed conflict between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni might be a publicity tactic to increase sales is an interesting idea.

In Hollywood, generating excitement—good or bad—can attract attention to a project.

Sometimes, publicity strategies include highlighting drama or conflict to maintain interest in a film. The real question is whether the risk of damaging their reputations is worth it.

If it is a PR strategy, the “feud” would be managed carefully, sharing just enough information to create buzz without harming either star’s reputation.

Like how Lively revealed there was a clash that happened on the set (mind you she was not supposed to talk about it, but why does it have to do with Justin) over Lana Del Ray’s song.

Moreover, the absence of joint appearances during promotions and suggestions of creative disagreements might be intentional stories to maintain audience interest, encouraging more discussions and increasing sales.

Justin was the director and Blake was a producer too she included her husband a lot in the creative work and editing. Does it sound wrong, after all the movie was Justin’s baby!!
